Our story, mission, and values
Our Mission
El Shaddai Assemblies of God Church exists to advance the Christian faith in our community and beyond. Registered charity number 1148003, we are committed to:
- Advancing the Christian faith through worship, teaching, and example
- Relieving sickness and financial hardship by providing counselling and support services
- Promoting good health through pastoral care and community programmes
- Advancing education through Bible studies, Sunday School, and Christian education for all ages
Our work extends to Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, and Redbridge, as well as worldwide as determined by our church council.
What We Believe
As part of the Assemblies of God family, we hold to the foundational truths of the Christian faith as taught in the Bible. Our beliefs emphasise:
The Bible
We believe the Scriptures are the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
Salvation
Salvation is found through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present work of the Holy Spirit in believers' lives.
Education & Wellbeing Support
We offer various programmes to support personal growth and wellbeing:
- Bible studies and Christian education courses
- Sunday School for children aged 5-14
- Youth programmes for teenagers
- Pastoral counselling and support
- Community education initiatives
These programmes are designed to support individuals on their faith journey and provide practical help where needed.
